I took my own children through the London 11+. Two tutors, four years of papers, and a lot of evenings spent working out how the answer was actually meant to be reached.

Worked example · ratio
A recipe uses flour and butter in the ratio 5 to 2. If 350 g of flour is used, how much butter is needed?

Tell me when it's outI am a mum of two in London and a writer. I am not a maths teacher, which is rather the point. I came to all of this the way you probably have, as a parent holding a past paper at nine in the evening with no idea how the mark scheme got from the question to the answer.
So I worked them out, paper after paper, for four years. The answers I filled in along the way are on this site for nothing, because a marked paper at nine in the evening is worth more than another workbook.
The answers are free because answers are the easy part and plenty of people give them away. What took me four years to learn was everything around them, and that is what the guides are.
The question papers belong to the schools and I give them away exactly as they publish them, with my answers added. I have never sold one and I never will. What I sell is the guides, which are mine.
